Rejection

real girl [1998]
shaking beneath glass eyes
an idea
rattling in my porcelain skull.
that on the inside,
i am a real girl.
if blood is filling my hollow limbs,
can the wizard give me a heart?

real girls can feel
warm love
scorching pain
and hate

but my glass skin never bruised,
glass eyes never cried.
no doll has her own tongue
to lie or ask for love.

and now i vomit tissue and blood
as my body rejects life
my hands unclench,
my arms falls lifeless,
i stare solidly in front of me
what is left of my soul
puddles at my feet.



This poem fell out of a book while I was cleaning - I had forgotten about it, until it literally fell into my lap. So then I spent a little while playing out the idea in Photoshop. I seem to have issues posting newer poetry, or even dealing more "current" events. I guess I have better hindsight. Anyway, I am not to certian how I feel about this peice. Grain intended.
I may re-do the whole thing, if its worth doing. ::shrugs:: input appreciated.
